Alexis was on her way back up to the common room at lunchtime, wondering where everybody was. Blinking around at the deserted corridor before her as she rounded the stairs, she let out a small sigh. She supposed everyone would be out in the grounds, enjoying the beautiful day outside. It was a sunny day quite unnatural for September, and the students of Hogwarts seemed fully intent to make the most of this. This thought brought a smile to her lips, and she hadn't realised she had stopped in front of a large window overlooking the grounds, gazing out at her peers that were gathered there.
Realizing she had stopped walking, she dragged her eyes from the window and continued on her path, heading for the staircase that lead to Ravenclaw. She wasn't sure why exactly she was heading to the common room, when it was so lovely outside, but she figured she would leave her bag in her dorm before heading outside to savour her lunch break in the sun. Even so, she dawdled, hoping to run into someone she knew. Lunchtimes were far more fun when spent in the company of a friend, or making a new friend.

Rieya sighed frustratedly and continued on her hunt down the empty corridoors, looking for her old friend Peeves, she needed someone to lighten her mood and if anyone could do that it was Peeves.
She zipped around another corner to find her self in the face of a blonde girl. She haulted herself before she could colide with her, that would have been embarrasing, especially if Peeves decided to show up.
"Watch out! Merlin girl, keep an eye on your trail aye?" she said in her thick australian accent, her tone slightly harsh from her frustration.

Just as she began to walk down the corridor once more, a flash of blonde and a flash of yellow speeded around the corner nearest to her, almost running straight into her. Alexis took a step back just as the girl stopped herself, glad that they hadn't collided. Looking down at the Hufflepuff, she wondered if she had seen her before, as she looked around her age, but realised she hadn't
When the girl spoke, her thick Australian accent pointed out the fact that she must be new. "Oh, sorry, I was miles away," she said, knowing she sounded like a dreamy idiot, but it was the truth. Not many Ravenclaws are as easily distracted as Alexis. She definitely had the brains for the house, and was coming top in most of her classes, but she wasn't as focused as some of her house, sometimes slipping into daydreams.

She half smirked and looked the girl over, Ravenclaw. Strange though, Ravenclaws aren't suppossed to be as air headed as this one made out to be, they were always so focused and smart. Rieya grimaced at the thought of Ravenclaws, oh how they annoyed her.
She folded her arms and shifted her wait to one foot, "YEah well watch it next time, you hear? We can't have Raven's runnin willy nilly in their own little worlds now can we?" she said quite sharply as her eyes darted around the room for any trace of Peeves.

Alexis noticed the girl look her over and then grimaced, and raised an eyebrow slightly. She was acting more like a Slytherin than a Hufflepuff, and that was what confused her. Surely a Hufflepuff wouldn't snap at a Ravenclaw like that? Alexis pursed her lips slightly, studying the girl, unsure of what to say.
Sighing, she decided to take the high road. "Fine, you're right. I'm Alexis, by the way," she said, holding out her hand to the stranger. If she was new, she might need someone to talk to, or show her around. She was only being helpful, as she wouldn't have liked to be left alone in her first week.
