Lily sat up in the gryffindor stands, making sure to bask in the light, breezy atmosphere of September before the blustery October rolled in. It was a nonchalant Sunday, and it would seem as though no teams had practice, which was good news for Lily. She could sit and read in harmony with nature....

'Hey Lily!' Andy cried as she sat next to her friend. They were watching a Quidditch practice. Which team? Andy didn't care. She never played and never minded much about it. She sighed as she saw no one else in the stands. 'So what's up?' Andy asked, taking off her black cloak. She'd thought she'd need it, but it was warm out.

Lily jumped, nearly falling off of her seat, when Andromeda showed up rather suddenly. "Andy! Don't scare me like that!" she said. Lily rolled her shoulders back, trying to relax again, and trying to contain her rapidly beating heart. It felt like it had jumped right out of her chest! "I'm just.. reading and relaxing on my first Sunday back to Hogwarts," said Lily calmly. "And what, may I ask, have you been up to?"

'Oops, didn't mean to scare you,' Andromeda giggled. She then sighed; her expression changed: 'Nothing really. There's not much to do.' She looked at the empty field. 'So are there any practices scheduled for today?'

Lily shrugged. "I'm not too sure. I certainly hope not. At least, not Gryffindor or Slytherin," she said. Then, Lily sighed. "It's only been a week and I'm already feeling better about this year than last. I was so stressed about OWLs last year that I really didn't have time to enjoy just being here. This year, I feel like I'm on a break. The work isn't as hard... yet. I can only hope it doesn't progress too much further."

'Well, it would be something that would be mildly entertaining,' Andy pointed out and then looked behind her at the Black Lake. She sighed. 'I know how you feel. When I realized this was my last year, i almost cried. I love Hogwarts,' she admitted.

"I love being here so much.. I can't even imagine what next year will be like. I don't want to think about it," she said with a small chuckle. She then closed her book, knowing that she wouldn't get any reading accomplished with Andromeda there to talk too. "So, changing the subject... How was your summer?"

'Boring. Mother insisted we go to Spain and France.. again!' Andromeda said dramatically. She sighed. 'I mean, how many times is she going to take us? We went there last break!' she exclaimed. 'How 'bout you?'

Lily smiled. Her summer had been decent. "It was good! You know, the usual: fight with Petunia, work at a muggle store for some extra money, get a gazillion owls from a particular persistant toerag...." Lily's face had turned into a grimace. Lily hadn't responded to any of those letters. Not one.

'Sounds... ....fun.' Andromeda laughed. 'Anything notably history making? And don't worry, I'm not counting the celebration of the 400th time James asked you out,' Andy smiled.

Lily laughed and shook her head, no. "Not really... the same old stuff about him wanting us to meet up here.. or something stupid. Really, after the third letter, I stopped reading them." She shrugged. "We've had only one major fight so far this year, so I think that I can manage it well if I just steer clear of him. The problem is, he tends to find me." Lily sighed. "I thought Potter would have grown up by now..."

'Lils, this is James we're talking about,' Andy laughed. 'But anywho, that's amazing that you've only had one fight,' Andy said incredulously. She sighed.

Lily scoffed in an unlady-like manner. "Erm, Andy, it's only been a week. True, it is a slight improvement, but I doubt he'll get any better any time soon.... To be honest, I was thinking about it this summer... if he could just grow up, I think I would actually... consider accepting his offer."

'I know, I know, but i think that's still a record.' Andy did a double take. 'Consider!?' she repeated loudly. 'Apparently, something did happen this summer.' Andy felt lily's forehead. 'You feeling ok?' she asked, concerned.

Lily laughed. "Did I say accept? No, Andy, I said consider, as in only think about it. He's still a nosy, arrogant, bullying, insufferable, broom-straddling, eye-winking, big-headed prick, and I still have a very great aversion to him. I just... I think I can get him to change. I am just not too sure how yet."
